About ABF Systems.
Serving the automotive repair industry since 1976
Our company was founded in 1976 as Autodata Manuals by Tom LaVielle. We developed and published estimating manuals for the automotive collision repair industry as well as specialty manuals for automotive mechanical repair shops. Autodata was known for providing accurate and detailed data and distributed throughout the United States and Canada.
In 1992 Autodata sold our estimating data to Motor Information Systems and our data became an intregal part of the CCC Estimating Database. At that time we changed our business name to ABF Systems to focus on body shop software and collision repair shop management consulting.
In 1996 we developed and marketed a line repair estimating and shop management software for small auto body and truck collision repair shops. Great emphasis is placed on affordability, ease-of-use and value for our customers. And we're still at it today - constantly improving and updating our software.
Tom LaVielle has spent many years in the collision repair industry holding body shop management positions in both independent and dealer body shops. He was also the Labor & Parts Development Manager during the early development of Audatex Estimating, Labor Development Manager and Project Manager at Motor Information Systems (the database provider to CCC). Tom holds a Michigan State Mechanics License, is ICAR Certified and a member of the Society of Automoive Engineers. He is currently director of software and database development at ABF Systems, Inc.
